Our Story Since 1965
Kaftan Communities was founded in 1965 with a vision to create dependable housing rooted in family values. We began by building single-family homes in Michigan, then expanded into multifamily and broader real estate, delivering shopping centers, offices, industrial parks, and medical facilities across Michigan and Florida.
Throughout these decades of growth, Michigan homes have remained our core commitment, and over the years, we’ve developed more than 5,000 homes throughout Michigan. Today, we own and manage more than 20 communities throughout Southeast Michigan, each one reflecting thoughtful upkeep and design, convenient locations, and a strong sense of neighborhood. Our properties are meticulously maintained to enhance the livelihood of our residents.
Our work extends beyond building homes. By integrating development, construction, management, and resident services under one roof, we make sure there’s consistent quality and attentive service for every resident. Today, Kaftan continues to focus on creating welcoming homes and lasting relationships that strengthen the communities we serve.
